The Beverage Manager role at FireRock Country Club is a key leadership position within the Food and Beverage department, reporting directly to the Food and Beverage Director. This exempt-level position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of beverage operations throughout the club's dining outlets, events, and member functions. The Beverage Manager ensures the highest standards of service quality and a curated selection of wines, spirits, and cocktails that align with member preferences. This role demands operational excellence and a deep understanding of beverage control, compliance with liquor laws, and inventory management. The successful candidate will also train and lead the bar and beverage service staff, ensuring consistency in service delivery and contributing to the overall positive member experience.
The Beverage Manager plays a vital role in managing beverage storage areas, maintaining accurate inventory records, and working closely with vendors to procure products that meet the club's high standards. The position involves preparing reports on beverage usage and trends, implementing cost control strategies, and assisting in the planning of beverage pairings for special events such as wine dinners and banquets. Staying current with industry trends, emerging products, and member preferences is essential to continually enhance the club's beverage program.
This position requires excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills, combined with extensive knowledge of wines, spirits, craft cocktails, and bar operations. Certifications such as Food Handler's and Alcohol Beverage Service Certifications are required, with Sommelier or Beverage Program certifications preferred. The role also involves physical demands, including standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and moving among various club locations under different environmental conditions. Job Requirements

Job Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within an upscale or private club environment
- Extensive knowledge of wines, spirits, craft cocktails, and bar operations
- Strong understanding of beverage storage, inventory management, and vendor relations
- Experience training bar staff and maintaining alcohol compliance standards
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills
Job Duties
- Supervise day-to-day bar operations in all dining outlets, events, and member functions
- Train and lead bartenders and beverage service staff, maintaining service standards and consistency
- Develop seasonal cocktail menus and curate wine and spirits selections in alignment with member preferences
- Ensure compliance with all liquor licensing, alcohol service, and safety regulations
- Monitor and maintain high levels of member satisfaction through quality control and staff coaching
- Manage all storage areas related to wine, spirits, beer, and mixers
- Maintain detailed inventory records, ensure accurate par levels, and reduce beverage waste/shrinkage
- Receive, inspect, label, and organize all incoming beverage deliveries
- Oversee proper storage conditions for wines and spirits, including climate and security controls
- Work closely with vendors, place orders, and track deliveries and invoices
- Work with the Food & Beverage Director to develop and manage the beverage budget
- Prepare inventory and usage reports
- analyze trends and implement cost control strategies
- Assist in planning beverage pairings for club events, wine dinners, and banquets
- Stay updated on industry trends, products, and member preferences
