Job Description
Spago Beverly Hills, part of the Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group, stands as an iconic institution in the world of culinary arts and hospitality. Founded by the globally renowned chef Wolfgang Puck, Spago has played a pivotal role in defining modern California cuisine and has set the definitive standard for gracious and sophisticated hospitality. Known for its innovative approach and enduring excellence, Spago is not just a restaurant; it is a benchmark for fine dining that attracts a discerning, global clientele seeking an unparalleled gastronomic experience. The establishment's prestige is further enhanced by its receipt of the Wine Spectator Grand Award every year since 2010, an accolade reserved for the most distinguished and comprehensive wine cellars worldwide. This recognition underlines Spago’s commitment to delivering a beverage program of exceptional depth, rarity, and distinction.
We are currently seeking a Beverage Manager of exceptional talent and professionalism to join the esteemed team at Spago Beverly Hills. This role offers a rare and exciting opportunity to lead one of the most celebrated beverage programs in the country. The Beverage Manager will serve as the steward and innovator of Spago's world-class beverage experience, guiding the program with technical mastery, creativity, and genuine hospitality. As a key leader within the dining room, the manager will have a visible and poised presence on the floor during service, ensuring every guest receives an intuitive and personalized beverage experience that complements the culinary offerings. This position requires a strong leader who can both inspire and develop a highly skilled service team, fostering a culture rooted in curiosity, excellence, and pride in craft.
The Beverage Manager’s responsibilities span the full scope of the beverage program, including the evolution of the prestigious wine list, leadership of the cocktail and spirits program, and introduction of bespoke guest experiences with thoughtful pairings. This role demands operational precision—overseeing inventory management, procurement, cost controls, and strategic vendor relationships—while upholding the highest standards of compliance, safety, and operational discipline. Candidates must have a deep understanding of global wine and spirits trends and demonstrate a proven ability to manage complex inventory and financial systems.
This role operates within a dynamic, fast-paced environment that balances the energy of fine dining service with meticulous attention to detail. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability are essential, reflecting the nature of the hospitality industry. For the right candidate, the Beverage Manager position is not only a chance to influence an acclaimed program but also offers a clear pathway toward Director-level leadership within the Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group, based on performance, vision, and impact.
The position comes with a competitive salary and commission structure, comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan with generous company matching, paid time off, dining discounts across Wolfgang Puck restaurants, and career advancement opportunities within the group. Spago Beverly Hills is committed to equal opportunity employment and does not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, veteran status, disability, or any other protected class. This role is ideal for a polished, detail-oriented professional passionate about fine dining and the art of beverage service, ready to contribute to maintaining and advancing the legacy of one of the world’s most respected dining institutions.
