Job Description
Oxford Commons is a dynamic hospitality company known for creating inspired spaces that foster community, curiosity, and meaningful connections. With a family of unique brands including Oxford Exchange, The Library, The Stovall House, Predalina, Mad Dogs & Englishmen, Casa Cami, Julian's, The Current Hotel, and Oxford Design Studio, the company is dedicated to delivering memorable guest experiences across a variety of settings. Each brand under Oxford Commons reflects a commitment to excellence in hospitality, blending innovative concepts with warm, inviting atmospheres designed to engage and inspire. Known for its culture of dreamers and doers, Oxford Commons values creativity, collaboration, and a people-first approach in everything it undertakes, aiming to provide environments where guests and employees alike feel connected and valued.
The Beverage Manager at Oxford Commons plays a crucial role as a senior member of the front of house (FOH) leadership team. Reporting directly to the General Manager and working alongside the Assistant General Manager, this position is responsible for executing a best-in-class beverage experience that complements the overall hospitality goals of the company. The role involves overseeing daily bar operations, managing profitability, and leading the development of a high-volume craft cocktail program that represents the brand’s identity, incorporating seasonality, efficiency, and exceptional execution standards. This is a leadership position ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and has a passion for innovative cocktail design as well as team building.
In this role, the Beverage Manager will embody and promote Oxford Commons' core values such as humility, curiosity, a commitment to doing whatever it takes, and fostering meaningful connections. Leadership responsibilities include mentoring and motivating bartenders and FOH staff to provide outstanding guest experiences, recruiting and training new team members, and conducting performance evaluations to ensure high standards of service. The manager is also tasked with curating and maintaining seasonal craft cocktail menus aligned with brand standards and current guest trends. Strong vendor relationships must be maintained alongside diligent management of beverage ordering, inventory, and cost controls to optimize profitability.
Operationally, the Beverage Manager ensures that bar execution emphasizes speed, organization, and quality to support high-volume service demands. This includes coordinating effectively with both FOH and back of house (BOH) teams, supporting floor operations during peak times, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in bar areas adhering to health regulations. Scheduling bar staff to balance labor costs with service excellence is another critical duty.
The Beverage Manager will also collaborate closely with other leadership and company partners to support private dining and special events, contributing valuable operational insights to improve service efficiency and uphold brand integrity. The ideal candidate brings at least three years of beverage leadership experience in a high-volume craft cocktail environment, strong skills in seasonal menu development and workflow design, and leadership capabilities to inspire and develop teams. Additional professional attributes include expertise in cost control, inventory management, industry trends, and excellent communication skills. Physical requirements for the role include the ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds, with comfort working in varied temperature environments.
Oxford Commons offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, life, disability, and supplemental insurance, generous paid time off with accrual systems for salaried and hourly managers, sick days, tuition reimbursement, 401(k) with company matching, attire allowance, and employee discounts. The company is committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive people-first culture and welcomes applicants from all backgrounds without discrimination. This role is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated beverage professional to join a forward-thinking hospitality leader and shape exceptional beverage experiences that delight guests and elevate the Oxford Commons brands.
