Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in a food service or kitchen environment preferred
  • knowledge of food safety standards
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting and carrying
  • availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Be knowledgeable in all behind-the-line areas for flexible scheduling
  • perform food rotation, set-up and break-down, stock wood, present products, clean utensils and general work area
  • prepare food accurately and in a timely manner
  • ensure temperatures of ovens, coolers and freezers are accurate
  • inspect stock levels and review prep sheets with the manager to establish daily prep list
  • store, unpack, and retrieve food items in appropriate storage areas
  • monitor and report malfunctioning equipment and arrange each item for sound working order
  • prepare food products following safety policies and demonstrate correct food service equipment and utensil use
  • maintain sanitary work area as per State Health Department standards and clean food service equipment and utensils
  • wipe immediate work area as necessary after food preparation
