The Bell/Valet position at The Lodge at Snowbird is a key role that supports guest services by assisting visitors with their luggage and transportation needs. This seasonal role, reporting to the Lead Bellman, involves a variety of duties that ensure guests receive a seamless and enjoyable experience from arrival to departure. Responsibilities include escorting guests to their rooms, careful handling and delivery of luggage, providing information about the resort's features and local attractions, shuttle services within the resort, vehicle parking and retrieval, and answering guest inquiries with professionalism and courtesy. The role demands a commitment to guest service excellence, physical stamina to handle luggage and snow-related tasks, and the ability to work efficiently under varying weather conditions and busy periods. Candidates must be reliable, mature, and possess good communication skills, along with the ability to use sound judgment independently within company guidelines. This position requires availability for shifts that span early mornings to late evenings, including weekends and holidays, with options for full-time or part-time employment. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months of job-specific work experience
- At least 21 years of age
- Valid driver license with clean motor vehicle record
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively
- Basic arithmetic skills
- Reliability and maturity
- Ability to work independently
- Exercising judgment within policy guidelines
- Problem-solving skills
- Understanding of other Snowbird operations
- Responsibility for own actions
- Pleasant interaction with guests and employees
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months of job-specific work experience demonstrating competence
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid driver license with clean motor vehicle record
- Excellent communication skills including reading, writing, and speech
- Ability to perform arithmetic accurately
- Reliability and maturity with ability to work with minimal supervision
- Strong problem-solving skills and judgment within policy guidelines
- Understanding of Snowbird operations
- Ability to interact pleasantly with guests and colleagues
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
Job Duties
- Escort incoming hotel guests to rooms and assist with luggage
- Ensure luggage safety and proper handling
- Deliver luggage to guest rooms within 15 minutes of arrival
- Place luggage on luggage rack and offer further assistance and information
- Collect luggage within 8 minutes of guest departure request
- Adhere to master key usage procedures
- Provide visible and available assistance in the lobby
- Use guest names and maintain eye contact
- Assist in keeping work area neat and clean
- Provide valet service including parking and retrieving vehicles and directing traffic
- Answer telephone promptly with clear and pleasant greeting
- Keep records of service calls and maintain bell desk log sheets
- Demonstrate personal guest service excellence
- Act as an ambassador for the hotel maintaining professionalism
- Perform snow removal and salting walkways and parking areas
- Assist with lot clearing
- Conduct shuttle runs within the resort
- Occasionally travel to Salt Lake Valley as required
