Job Requirements
- Must be 21 years or older
- must be able to stand and walk for long periods
- must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
- full time lead position requiring flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and varied schedule
- must be able to pass a background check
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- college degree in hospitality or business preferred
- minimum 2 years experience in bar operations, preferably in a high volume restaurant or lounge
- TIPS certification or ability to become TIPS certified within 30 days of hire
- extensive knowledge of food and beverage etiquette
- strong mathematical skills
- proficiency with point of sale systems and cash handling reports
- good verbal communication skills
- ability to work under pressure
- interpersonal skills for customer satisfaction
- knowledge of food handling requirements
- ability to maintain neat, clean, well-groomed appearance
Job Duties
- Provide exemplary customer service
- take beverage orders from guests and servers
- present drink menus, make recommendations, and answer guests' questions
- prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks including proper glassware and garnishes
- peel, slice, and pit fruit for garnishing drinks
- maintain bottles and glasses attractively and functionally for efficient drink preparation
- take accurate orders while maximizing sales using selling techniques and product knowledge
- ensure accurate collection of payment for served products
- manage inventory of alcoholic beverages
- follow proper cash handling procedures
- limit problems related to guests' excessive drinking
- maintain a high but balanced energy level throughout shifts
- communicate effectively with customers and staff
- comply with Michigan liquor laws and company policies
- complete assigned cleaning duties including stocking and organization
- ensure proper setup and breakdown of stations
- attend all training seminars as requested
- perform any additional responsibilities as assigned
