Job Requirements

  • Must be 21 years or older
  • must be able to stand and walk for long periods
  • must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
  • full time lead position requiring flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and varied schedule
  • must be able to pass a background check

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • college degree in hospitality or business preferred
  • minimum 2 years experience in bar operations, preferably in a high volume restaurant or lounge
  • TIPS certification or ability to become TIPS certified within 30 days of hire
  • extensive knowledge of food and beverage etiquette
  • strong mathematical skills
  • proficiency with point of sale systems and cash handling reports
  • good verbal communication skills
  • ability to work under pressure
  • interpersonal skills for customer satisfaction
  • knowledge of food handling requirements
  • ability to maintain neat, clean, well-groomed appearance

Job Duties

  • Provide exemplary customer service
  • take beverage orders from guests and servers
  • present drink menus, make recommendations, and answer guests' questions
  • prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks including proper glassware and garnishes
  • peel, slice, and pit fruit for garnishing drinks
  • maintain bottles and glasses attractively and functionally for efficient drink preparation
  • take accurate orders while maximizing sales using selling techniques and product knowledge
  • ensure accurate collection of payment for served products
  • manage inventory of alcoholic beverages
  • follow proper cash handling procedures
  • limit problems related to guests' excessive drinking
  • maintain a high but balanced energy level throughout shifts
  • communicate effectively with customers and staff
  • comply with Michigan liquor laws and company policies
  • complete assigned cleaning duties including stocking and organization
  • ensure proper setup and breakdown of stations
  • attend all training seminars as requested
  • perform any additional responsibilities as assigned
