The Bartender role at Primer & The Post is a part-time, hourly position central to maintaining the bar’s reputation for exceptional service and quality. Bartenders are responsible for crafting and serving a broad range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including well-made classics, beer, seltzers, and highball-style cocktails that are simple yet precise. This role requires individuals who are dynamic, skilled, and passionate about hospitality. Bartenders engage directly with customers, providing warm, aware, and efficient service while managing multiple orders in a fast-paced environment. They maintain an organized and clean bar space, handle transactions accurately, promote menu items, and uphold all health and safety standards. The job demands a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure. Bartenders are also expected to monitor customer consumption responsibly to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all patrons. Shift flexibility, including weekends, is necessary, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely is required. Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 19 years of age
  • Proven experience as a bartender in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong knowledge of drink preparation techniques and cocktail recipes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Positive attitude and passion for providing excellent customer service
  • Ability to push, pull, and/or safely lift up to 50lbs
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends

Job Duties

  • Preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to established recipes and customer preferences
  • Providing outstanding customer service by greeting, taking orders, and assisting customers in a friendly and efficient manner
  • Maintaining a clean and organized bar area, including stocking and replenishing supplies
  • Handling all transactions and process payments accurately
  • Monitoring customer consumption to prevent overindulgence and ensure responsible drinking
  • Adhering to all health and safety guidelines and maintain a sanitary work environment
  • Upselling and promoting additional menu items and beverages
  • Handling customer inquiries and resolve any issues or concerns
