This role is for a dedicated and enthusiastic Bartender who will play a crucial part in upholding the company’s standards and exceeding customer expectations. The Bartender is responsible for delivering awesome service by engaging customers with genuine salesmanship and a warm, friendly attitude. They will utilize their extensive knowledge of food, seafood specials, and beverages to guide customers through their dining and drinking experience, placing accurate orders and ensuring timely delivery. The position requires a do-whatever-it-takes personality, including welcoming customers with a smile, addressing them by name when appropriate, and maintaining ongoing conversation to create a memorable experience.

In addition to customer interaction, the Bartender will manage the bar area as if it were their own business by maintaining cleanliness, organization, and compliance with responsible beverage service laws. They will verify the age of customers purchasing alcohol and handle all To Go orders efficiently. This role also involves secondary responsibilities like assisting servers, supporting hosts by encouraging customers to sit in the bar area, and helping stock and prepare the bar for service. Attention to detail extends to cash handling and adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have between 1 to 3 years of bartending experience in a food and beverage environment, demonstrating strong communication, decision-making, and multitasking skills. Physical stamina is essential as the role requires standing, walking, lifting, and maintaining balance during shifts. The Bartender must be capable of managing a busy and fast-paced setting while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.

Job Requirements

  • High school degree or GED preferred
  • 1 to 3 years bartending experience in food and beverage environment or equivalent education and experience
  • Must be at least the minimum age required to serve alcohol as determined by law
  • Able to free-pour to recipe and specification
  • Extensive knowledge of beer, wine and liquor
  • Good reading, writing, mathematical and communication skills
  • Able to interact professionally with customers and team members
  • Able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Good judgment and decision making abilities
  • Must be able to spend 100% of working time standing, walking and reaching
  • Must be able to push, pull and lift objects from lower to higher positions or move objects horizontally
  • Must maintain body equilibrium on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces
  • Must be able to climb ladders, stairs and ramps
  • Must frequently carry loads over 50 pounds
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with customers in the restaurant's primary language
  • Must have normal hearing ability
  • Specific vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

  • Maintain a clean and organized bar top, storage areas, and service bar station
  • Adhere to responsible beverage service requirements
  • Verify all customers purchasing alcohol are at least 21 years old
  • Answer the telephone in a friendly, upbeat manner
  • Take and manage all To Go orders
  • Adhere to cash handling policies
  • Assist servers by running drinks to their tables
  • Help the host by encouraging customers to sit in the bar
  • Assist other bartenders by stocking glassware, ice, garnishes
  • Complete assigned opening, ongoing, and closing sidework
  • Maintain a safe, sanitary and secure environment
  • Notify a manager of all customer complaints
  • Remain calm at all times
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by a manager
