The position of Experienced Bartender / Server at Guilford Hall Brewery is a vital role within the front-of-house team. This job is ideal for a passionate hospitality professional with a solid background in bartending and serving who thrives in a fast-paced environment and values delivering exceptional guest experiences. Working full-time or part-time, the role involves managing multiple responsibilities including precise beverage preparation, food service, and guest interactions across the brewery's taproom, restaurant, and private event spaces. The bartender/server is expected to blend knowledge of craft beers, cocktails, and food menus with smooth, attentive service skills to satisfy and exceed customer expectations. Beyond typical serving duties, this role demands a strong focus on compliance with health, safety, and alcohol service regulations. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with management and team members to create a welcoming, fun, and professional environment. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Valid certification such as TIPS or ServSafe Alcohol preferred
  • Previous bartending or serving experience in a busy environment
  • Strong knowledge of craft beers and cocktails
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Job Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience bartending and/or serving experience in a high-volume bar, restaurant, or event setting
  • Strong knowledge of beer styles, brewing basics, and craft cocktails
  • Excellent communication, multitasking, and organizational skills
  • Ability to provide warm, genuine hospitality under pressure
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • TIPS or ServSafe Alcohol certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Provide attentive, professional, and friendly service to all guests in the taproom, restaurant, and event spaces
  • Accurately take food and beverage orders, process transactions, and handle cash/credit card payments
  • Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to recipes and customer preferences
  • Maintain deep knowledge of our craft beer selection, rotating taps, seasonal cocktails, and food menu to make informed recommendations
  • Monitor guest experience to ensure satisfaction and resolve issues promptly and professionally
  • Set up and break down bar and dining areas, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health and safety standards
  • Assist with service during private events, banquets, and large parties
  • Adhere to all alcohol service laws and company policies
  • Collaborate with teammates and management to maintain a high standard of hospitality
