The Bartender role at Boyd Gaming is a pivotal position within the company’s hospitality services, responsible for preparing and serving a wide variety of beverages while maintaining a welcoming and clean bar area. This position involves receiving and preparing beverage orders, including mixing both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to standard recipes that the staff is expected to memorize to ensure consistency and quality. Bartenders are expected to manage monetary transactions efficiently using a cash register while maintaining accurate records of the cash bank.
In addition to mixology skills, the role requires maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the bar area and its equipment, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for both guests and staff. Effective communication and customer service skills are fundamental for this position, as bartenders greet and engage guests in a friendly and courteous manner. Bartenders also play an essential role in inventory management by preparing requisitions and orders for bar stock and ensuring that supplies like ice are consistently replenished.

Job Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Previous experience as a bartender preferred
- Must have excellent customer service and communication skills
- Must be able to stand and walk for duration of shift
- Must be able to lift, carry, and maneuver up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary licenses and/or certifications

Job Duties
- Receive and prepare beverage orders from customers and cocktail servers
- Mix alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to memorized standard beverage recipes
- Serve beverages, using repetitive motions, in accordance with established service procedures
- Operate cash register, complete transactions according to procedures, and maintain accurate bank
- Maintain cleanliness of bar area by removing used glasses, napkins, emptying ashtrays, and wiping bar top
- Greet and communicate with guests in a friendly, courteous manner
- Prepare written requisitions and orders for bar stock
- Maintain and replenish ice supply
