Job Description

This job opportunity is with a reputable organization within the hospitality and entertainment industry, specifically working at Off-Track Betting (OTB) bars. These establishments are catered primarily to customers who enjoy wagering on horse races and offer a casual yet lively atmosphere where patrons can socialize while enjoying a variety of beverages, including alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks. The company prides itself on providing excellent customer service and maintaining a fun and professional environment for both guests and staff. Working in such an industry requires individuals who thrive in fast-paced and dynamic settings, understand the importance of compliance with safety and hygiene standards, and who can contribute positively to the overall guest experience.

The position is for a Bartender who will be responsible for mixing, preparing, and serving cocktails, beers, wines, and other beverages to patrons at the OTB bars. This role does not involve any direct supervisory responsibilities, but it is essential for the individual to work collaboratively with servers and other staff to ensure timely and excellent service. The bartender will handle cash transactions, maintain an attractive bar display by arranging bottles and glasses thoughtfully, and prepare garnishes such as sliced and pitted fruit to complement drinks. Inventory management is a crucial part of this role, with the bartender being responsible for checking supplies at the beginning and end of each shift and ordering or requisitioning necessary liquors and bar supplies.

Maintaining cleanliness and upholding sanitary safeguards in the handling of food and beverages, as well as cleaning all work surfaces, are responsibilities tied to this role to meet health and safety standards. Additional duties include replenishing bar snacks, preparing paperwork at the end of shifts, and complying with safety protocols as outlined in the Safety Manual or as required by departmental needs. The bartender must maintain a professional demeanor, foster a fun and engaging environment for guests, and support the company’s mission of delivering superior customer service.

The ideal candidate will be at least 21 years old, possess a valid beverage permit, and be proficient in verbal and written English to communicate effectively with customers and team members. Educational expectations include a high school diploma or GED equivalent, combined with relevant experience or training. Important skills also include basic mathematical abilities to manage transactions and quantities correctly and common sense problem-solving capabilities. Flexibility in work shifts, including weekends, holidays, and long hours, is required due to the fluctuating nature of the hospitality industry.

This bartending role offers an excellent chance for individuals who enjoy social interactions and working in an energetic environment to develop their careers in hospitality while contributing to the vibrant atmosphere that defines OTB bars. With the company’s commitment to compliance with safety and service standards and fostering an inclusive and enjoyable workplace, employees are supported in their roles and encouraged to participate in company-sponsored events and community engagement efforts. This comprehensive job opportunity seeks a motivated, enthusiastic, and responsible individual ready to join a welcoming team and create memorable experiences for every guest.
