Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in hospitality or bar service preferred
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • ability to handle cash transactions accurately
  • knowledge of state and federal alcohol service laws
  • good manual dexterity
  • strong communication skills
  • availability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
  • ability to lift and carry stock items
  • eligibility to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • Hotel experience preferred
  • must communicate well with guests
  • basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages
  • basic mathematical skills to operate cash register, make change, total guest checks, count bank, prepare cash drops, and understand portion sizes
  • sufficient manual dexterity to use a knife, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and retrieve stock
  • ability to remember, recite and promote menu items
  • ability to operate keyboard and point of sale procedures
  • ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods
  • ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers, and patrons
  • effective verbal and written communication skills

Job Duties

  • Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis
  • requisitions and stocks all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based on daily function projections
  • maintains stock, cuts, and stores all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and perishables daily
  • greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner
  • promotes and documents orders for drinks
  • mixes, garnishes, and presents drinks using standard recipes and portion control
  • abides by all state, federal and corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages
  • inputs orders into a register at the point of sale and creates checks for each guest
  • receives cash from guests, makes change, verifies validity of charges, records charges, and ensures vouchers are properly executed
  • locks and stores all beverage, food and other equipment
  • deposits cash drops and secures bank
  • complies with attendance rules and is available to work regularly
  • performs any other job-related duties as assigned
