The Bartender role at YOTEL Miami is a vital position within the Food & Beverage team responsible for delivering outstanding guest experiences through exemplary beverage service. The position is tailored for those who are dynamic, articulate, and capable of thinking outside the box to bring the YOTEL Miami Food & Beverage concept to life. As a Bartender, your primary responsibilities include actively engaging with guests, taking and suggesting orders, mixing and serving drinks, and ensuring guests enjoy a safe and pleasant bar experience. This position requires in-depth knowledge of beverage preparation — from mixing cocktails to conducting comprehensive wine and drink services — coupled with an enthusiastic approach to hospitality. The successful candidate will be trained to use the Micros point-of-sale system to accurately relay orders and manage billing efficiently.
Beyond the technical skills, the Bartender must embody the brand's high standards of cleanliness, safety, and responsible alcohol service in compliance with Florida state laws. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in bartending or related food & beverage service
- Ability to work under pressure and multitask
- Knowledge of responsible alcohol service laws in Florida
- Strong interpersonal and guest service skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Compliance with health and safety regulations
- Willingness to complete background checks and provide proof of age
- Familiarity with POS systems preferred
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous bartending or food & beverage service experience preferred
- Knowledge of cocktail and beverage preparation
- Familiarity with Micros POS system beneficial
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to follow safety and cash handling procedures
- Willingness to participate in training programs and team meetings
- Ability to work varying shifts including evenings and weekends
Job Duties
- Bring to life the YOTEL Miami Food & Beverage concept
- Present menu, answer questions, and make food and beverage suggestions
- Mix ingredients such as liquor, soda, sugar, juices, and bitters to prepare cocktails
- Serve food and beverages to bar and lounge patrons with brand-standard hospitality
- Use the Micros system to relay orders and calculate bills
- Request identification from guests when alcohol age verification is needed
- Monitor guest alcohol consumption and notify management of excessive intake or impaired guests
- Adhere to responsible alcohol service laws and company policies
- Collect payments and verify credit card signatures
- Perform bar setup including liquor, mixers, ice, garnishes, and glassware
- Conduct pre and post-shift side work and requisition supplies
- Inventory unused liquor and ensure proper security of all stock
- Maintain cleanliness and operation of bar equipment
- Clean and sanitize dishes, glassware, and utensils
- Maintain food safety and handling procedures
- Adhere to cash handling policies
- Attend daily preshift and monthly meetings
- Participate in safety training and hazard assessments
- Attend required training programs
