Job Description
Delaware North is a renowned global hospitality company with a rich legacy spanning over 100 years, dedicated to delivering exceptional food, beverage, and retail services across a diverse portfolio that includes iconic sports arenas, national parks, casinos, and more. As the food, beverage, and retail provider at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan, Delaware North plays a pivotal role in enhancing the event-day experience for thousands of fans and guests visiting this 20,000-seat venue. Little Caesars Arena is home to major professional sports teams such as the NHL's Detroit Red Wings and the NBA's Detroit Pistons, making it a premier destination for sports and entertainment enthusiasts. At Delaware North, the focus on people extends beyond guests to include its team members, offering unique career growth opportunities within a family-owned company committed to nurturing talent and fostering a supportive work environment. The company prides itself on creating great times in great places, and its widespread operations offer employees pathways to advance in various sectors like restaurants, hotels, sports, gaming, and retail, whether on a part-time or full-time basis.
The role of a seasonal Bartender at Delaware North Sportservice at Little Caesars Arena presents an exciting opportunity for individuals who thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments and who enjoy being part of the game day energy. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for responsibly serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, ensuring every guest interaction is handled with care and professionalism. You'll play a critical role in delivering an excellent guest experience by mixing drinks to company-standardized recipes, managing the sales process which includes cash and credit transactions, and adhering strictly to alcohol service policies, including verifying guest identification. This position offers more than just an hourly wage of $6.50, as it is a tipped role, presenting the potential to significantly increase earnings through excellent service.
Beyond the immediate responsibilities behind the bar, the role demands attention to detail in maintaining inventory, ensuring the bar is well-stocked with liquors, beverages, condiments, and other necessary supplies. Team members must complete sales and inventory reports accurately, contributing to the smooth operation of the venue's beverage service. The position requires physical stamina, as bartenders will be on their feet for long periods and need to occasionally lift items weighing up to 35 pounds. The work environment can be noisy and bustling, especially during peak event times, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.
Delaware North is deeply committed to the well-being of its employees, offering a comprehensive benefits package that includes weekly pay, training and development opportunities, employee discounts, and flexible work schedules. Eligible team members have access to health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid vacation days and holidays, paid parental bonding leave, an employee assistance program, and tuition or professional certification reimbursement. These benefits reflect Delaware North's investment in its team members' personal and professional growth.
Joining Delaware North means becoming part of a diverse, inclusive work culture that values every individual and is proud to uphold equal opportunity employment practices. As a seasonal bartender, you not only contribute to creating memorable experiences for guests but also become part of a global legacy that champions career advancement and workplace satisfaction. If you are passionate about hospitality, enjoy engaging with people, and want to be part of an energetic team in a celebrated sports and entertainment venue, this role offers a perfect blend of challenge, teamwork, and reward.
