Job Description

This position is for a part-time Bartender role within Tao Group Hospitality, offering competitive pay at $17 per hour plus tips. The role involves preparing alcoholic beverages, taking orders, providing food and beverage service, and ensuring guests have a memorable bar and dining experience. As a bartender at Tao Group Hospitality, you will actively engage with guests, employees, and management in a professional and courteous manner to uphold the company’s commitment to gracious hospitality. This position demands a keen eye for details, such as accurately entering orders into the POS system, maintaining cleanliness and organization of the bar area, and following all state regulations for alcohol service.

Bartenders will be responsible for presenting menus, answering guest questions, recommending food and beverage items, and soliciting allergy and dietary restrictions to ensure guest safety. This role also entails completing end-of-shift financial procedures, assisting in pre-service meetings, and participating in training programs. Bartenders should have in-depth knowledge of all food and beverage menus and must maintain compliance with health and sanitation standards, including alcohol awareness training.

The ideal candidate has 1-2 years of professional bartending experience, preferably in high-volume restaurants, nightclubs, or lounges. Physical demands require the ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive motions. Flexibility to work varied schedules including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential. Training provided includes Tao Group Hospitality’s in-venue bartender training, Alcohol Awareness Certification, and Food Handling Certificate.

Job Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of professional beverage experience
  • previous bartending experience

Job Duties

  • Maintain professional appearance standards as directed in the employee handbook
  • anticipate and accommodate the needs of guests
  • provide professional and exceptional service
  • present menus, answer questions and make suggestions for food and beverage items
  • inform guests of all food and beverage specials with prices
  • solicit allergy or dietary restrictions from each guest
  • accurately enter all orders into the POS system and follow proper cash/payment card procedures
  • ensure delivery of all food and beverage to guests at the bar and lounge
  • maintain cleanliness of the bar and bar area and entire venue
  • organize liquor displays and shelving, maintain par levels
  • follow supervisor’s instructions and support co-workers
  • possess in-depth knowledge of all food and beverage menus and the company
  • serve all alcoholic beverages in accordance with state regulations
  • comply with health and sanitation standards
  • complete end-of-shift financial procedures accurately
  • communicate guest needs to front-of-house and kitchen staff
  • properly set up bar stations and perform opening/closing procedures including cleaning, stocking, and equipment setup
  • report any breakage or damage immediately
  • attend pre-service and training meetings
  • demonstrate a positive and professional attitude
  • work as part of a team and support fellow team members
