Job Description

As a Bartender at Boise State University, you will be responsible for preparing and serving a wide range of beverages to guests, adhering strictly to all state, federal, and corporate liquor laws, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization. The position is full time with varying days and hours, offering a competitive pay range of $14.00 to $16.00 per hour. It is ideal for individuals who have at least one year of catering or bartending experience and enjoy working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. \n\nIn this engaging role, you will be in direct contact with guests, ensuring that each visitor receives attentive and courteous service. Your duties will include setting up the bar area, managing inventory and stock, preparing fresh garnishes and juices, mixing drinks according to standardized recipes, and responsibly checking guest identification to prevent underage or over-consumption. You will also be tasked with cash handling, including processing payments and securing the cash bank at the end of your shift. Additionally, maintaining a clean and safe work environment is a key responsibility, which involves washing glassware, organizing bar displays, and performing general cleaning tasks. Job Duties

  • Prepare and serve beverages to guests in a friendly and timely manner

  • set up assigned bars and stock all necessary supplies
  • maintain stock and quality of fresh fruit, vegetable garnishes, and perishables
  • greet guests courteously and take/process orders
  • mix and garnish drinks according to standard recipes with portion control

  • handle cash transactions and secure deposits
  • perform general cleaning tasks and organize work area
  • arrange bottles and glasses for attractive display
  • wash and sterilize stemware
  • perform other duties as assigned
