Currently, Compass Group is hiring for a full-time Bartender position at its Capital One LGA location, situated at 94-00 Grand Central Parkway, East Elmhurst, NY 11371. This role offers a competitive fixed pay rate of $24.50 per hour, along with additional benefits such as free meals, uniforms, and laundering services at select locations. The position is ideal for candidates with previous experience in barback or bartending, specifically within a restaurant, lounge, or bar setting. The work schedule is full-time with closing shifts, ensuring a stable employment opportunity for those seeking consistent hours.

As a Bartender, the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving beverages to guests in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner while adhering strictly to all state, federal, and corporate liquor regulations. The role demands a thorough knowledge of liquor laws and the ability to manage the bar area efficiently by setting up the bar, maintaining inventory, preparing garnishes, and ensuring the presentation of drinks meets established recipes and quality standards. The bartender will also provide excellent customer service by greeting guests warmly, taking and processing drink orders, and monitoring guest alcohol consumption to responsibly handle situations involving intoxication.

Job Duties

  • prepare and serve beverages to guests in bar area in a friendly courteous and timely manner
  • adhere to state federal and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages
  • set up assigned bars and requisition and stock beer wine spirits paper products straws stirrers condiments glassware ice and produce
  • maintain stock prepare cure and store all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes juices and other perishables to ensure product quality
  • greet guests in a courteous friendly manner and take and process orders for drinks
  • mix garnish and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes practicing prudent portion control
  • check guests for proper identification and detect and act upon guest inebriation as trained
  • receive cash from guests make change verify validity of charges record charges and ensure vouchers are properly executed
  • lock up and store all beverage product food equipment items deposits and cash drops securing bank
  • perform general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards keeping work area clean and organized
  • arrange bottles and glasses to maintain an attractive display in the bar area
  • wash and sterilize stemware
  • perform other duties as assigned
