Job Description

Marriott International is a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry, known for delivering exceptional guest experiences and fostering inclusive work environments. Operating a wide portfolio of hotels and resorts worldwide, Marriott focuses on creating memorable stays through outstanding service, innovative amenities, and a dedication to quality. Situated in Bellevue, Washington, this particular position is part of The Westin brand, Marriott's wellness-focused hotel which emphasizes the well-being of its guests and associates alike. Marriott International prides itself on offering equal employment opportunities and a workplace culture that values diversity, inclusion, and personal growth, making it a preferred employer for many hospitality professionals.

The role of Bartender at Marriott’s Westin Bellevue is more than just mixing drinks—it’s about crafting a unique and memorable experience for every guest. Bartenders here are expected to go beyond the basics of beverage service: they continuously stay ahead of new industry trends, are knowledgeable about micro-local drink offerings, and respond dynamically to the evolving tastes and needs of guests. The ideal bartender embodies the spirit of hospitality not merely through drink preparation but also as a welcoming host who manages the bar environment with exceptional care. This includes maintaining cleanliness and organization, ensuring flawless operations, and fostering strong relationships with colleagues across different departments to deliver seamless service.

Beyond technical skills, this position requires a passion for guest satisfaction, a keen eye for detail in both drink quality and handling money, and an unwavering commitment to creating a safe and professional workplace. As part of the team, the bartender will execute a range of physical tasks such as standing, walking, as well as lifting and moving objects weighing up to 25 pounds. This active, hands-on approach contributes to a dynamic work setting that supports the brand’s mission of wellness and exceptional guest care.

Candidates should possess at least a high school diploma or GED equivalent and have a minimum of one year’s experience in a related role, though supervisory experience is not required. While MAST certification is preferred, it is not mandatory. Open availability is highly valued to meet the scheduling demands of the hospitality industry. The position is part-time, based on a non-management employment type, with a pay rate of $17.13 per hour and eligibility for tips. Marriott International offers an impressive benefits package including a 401(k) plan, stock purchase plan, employer-provided discounts, commuter benefits, childcare discounts, and more. Full-time employees can also access comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and disability insurance, paid parental leave, and educational assistance.

Located in the vibrant city of Bellevue, Washington, Marriott’s Westin hotel is deeply committed to empowering both its guests and associates to enhance their well-being. As a member of the Westin team, you will be encouraged to adopt your own wellness practices on and off the job, aligning with the company’s overarching goal to become the preeminent wellness brand in hospitality. This role is perfect for individuals who are enthusiastic, optimistic, active, and adventurous, who take pride in their personal well-being and are motivated by the opportunity to be part of a supportive and engaging global team. Working here means you are not only joining a job but embarking on a career path where you can belong, grow, and truly become the best version of yourself.
