Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • some college experience or degree preferred
  • must be TIPS certified or obtain certification within 30 days of hire
  • must have current Food Handlers card
  • previous bartending experience in a professional setting required

Job Duties

  • prepare alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages for guests
  • assess bar customer needs and preferences to make personalized recommendations
  • stock and maintain bar area to resort and health department standards
  • serve food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests sitting at the bar
  • set up bar and bar area according to resort standards
  • cut fruit and prepare garnishes as set by resort standards for service
  • keep the bar area organized and clean
  • know all specialty cocktail ingredients and garnishes
  • follow pouring procedures accurately using a jigger
  • notify supervisors of product shortages or out-of-stock items
  • have working knowledge of draft beer systems and change kegs properly
  • answer questions on menu selections and drinks
  • communicate with kitchen regarding menu questions, wait times, recooking orders, and availability
  • record transactions accurately in MICROS system
  • check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with food and beverages
  • maintain cleanliness of work areas, glassware, and equipment
  • complete closing duties including restocking and turning off lights
  • present accurate checks and process payments
  • ensure clean and professional uniform and personal appearance
  • welcome and acknowledge guests according to resort standards
