The role of bartender at The Aerie, located inside the Cliff Lodge at Snowbird, is integral to delivering exceptional guest experiences. This position requires someone who can provide quality service and craft consistent, high-quality alcoholic beverages to guests. The bartender is responsible for all drink preparation and service within the restaurant and lounge. This role demands a combination of expert knowledge of cocktails, wines, and other beverages, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment. Bartenders work primarily in PM shifts that include late evenings, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the hospitality industry's dynamic and fast-paced nature. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • able to work any day of the week including weekends and holidays
  • capable of standing for long periods
  • physically able to lift 25+ lbs
  • able to carry trays and other service items
  • able to bend, kneel, handle, reach, grasp, and perform repetitive motions
  • able to tolerate occasional high-stress situations and challenging weather conditions
  • prepared to stay overnight occasionally due to road closures

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of bartending or similar job experience
  • food handler permit
  • alcohol service certification
  • competency in reading, writing, and arithmetic
  • ability to learn menus, recipes, and wine lists
  • excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • strong organizational skills
  • ability to transport fragile items in busy areas
  • effective oral communication abilities

Job Duties

  • Report to work on time in the proper uniform and obey all company rules and regulations
  • prepare assigned station and assist others if needed
  • complete daily duties before and after shifts to maintain station appearance and cleanliness
  • greet and inform guests of specials and menu changes
  • employ suggestive selling techniques to enhance guest experience and increase revenues
  • address and anticipate guest needs
  • keep tables and bar neat and clean throughout service
  • serve alcohol according to state law and regulations
  • handle all financial transactions including ringing out guest checks, collecting payments, and running end-of-shift reports
  • maintain sanitation and safety practices throughout the property
  • treat guests and employees with respect and professionalism
  • resolve guest and internal concerns promptly and appropriately to meet company service standards
