Job Requirements

  • High school degree or GED preferred
  • 1 to 3 years experience bartending in a food and beverage environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • must be at least the minimum age required to serve alcohol as determined by applicable state law
  • able to free-pour to recipe and specification with extensive knowledge of beer, wine and liquor
  • good reading, writing, mathematical and communication skills
  • able to interact professionally with other customers and team members
  • able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • good judgment and decision making abilities
  • must be able to spend 100% of working time standing, walking, and reaching
  • must be able to push, pull and lift objects frequently
  • must maintain body equilibrium on various surfaces
  • must be able to climb ladders and stairs
  • must be able to carry loads greater than 50 pounds frequently
  • must be able to communicate clearly in the primary language of the restaurant
  • hearing sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction
  • specific vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • accommodate and meet special needs of customers such as senior citizens, large parties, and business meetings
  • utilize genuine salesmanship techniques during customer interactions
  • possess an extensive knowledge of all food, serious seafood, chalkboard specials and beverage selections
  • place accurate orders using the POS
  • deliver food and beverages to customers with a sense of urgency ensuring hot food is hot and cold food cold
  • manage the bar during each shift as though it were your own business
  • maintain a clean and organized bar top, storage areas, and service bar station
  • adhere to responsible beverage service requirements
  • verify all customers who purchase alcohol are at least 21 years of age
  • answer the telephone in a friendly and upbeat manner
  • take and manage all to go orders
  • adhere to cash handling policies
  • perform secondary responsibilities such as assisting servers by running drinks, helping hosts by encouraging customers to sit at the bar, and assisting other bartenders by stocking glassware and garnishes
  • complete assigned opening, ongoing and closing side work
  • maintain a safe, sanitary and secure environment at all times
  • notify a manager of all customer complaints
  • remain calm at all times
  • perform any other tasks or duties as assigned by a manager
