Job Requirements
- Must have two years of experience in full service bar or equivalent
- Must have accurate mathematic skills
- Must have knowledge and experience in preparation of alcoholic beverages
- Must have thorough knowledge of types of liquors and wine and their distinctions and use
- Knowledge of menu and specials
- Knowledge of wine list
- Knowledge of liquor list and recipes for special drinks
- Knowledge of liquor liability laws
- Knowledge of accounting procedures
- Must be punctual and meet schedule requirements
- Must be courteous, pleasant and good natured
- Must communicate with and understand the average guest
- Must provide a persona compatible with established image of restaurant
- Must be able to stand or walk for long periods while on duty
- Must work nights, weekends and holidays
- Must be able to accurately work with and account for large sums of money
- Must be able to open beer, liquor and wine bottles frequently
- Must be able to move and transport filled glass racks and cases of beer, wine or liquor when bar back is not available
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of two years bartending experience in a full-service bar
- Knowledge of alcoholic beverage preparation and liquor, wine distinctions
- Ability to accurately handle cash and perform basic accounting procedures
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Physical stamina to stand or walk for long periods and lift or move heavy items when necessary
Job Duties
- Prepare and serve beverages directly to customers seated at the bar and lounge area
- Provide food service to guests seated at the bar
- Arrange and set up beverages, mixes, and supplies per operating procedures
- Complete all assigned side work
- Prepare mixed beverage ingredients and beverages according to recipes including alcohol content
- Count and be responsible for the cash drawer
- Operate bar service functions independently
- Take and fill food orders from guests using communication and computer register systems
- Maintain security and accountability of bar stock inventory
- Communicate courteously with guests and co-workers
- Assist host staff with answering telephones
