Job Description
Jaffa Bar is a distinguished oyster bar that celebrates the vibrant flavors of Israel, infused with the dynamic spirit of Philadelphia. As the latest innovative concept from the renowned CookNSolo restaurant group, Jaffa Bar upholds the legacy of excellence set by its award-winning predecessors, including the acclaimed Zahav. The CookNSolo team, co-founded by celebrated chefs Michael Solomonov and Steve Cook—both of whom are five-time James Beard Award winners—has established a series of notable dining experiences such as Zahav, Laser Wolf, Dizengoff, Goldie, K’Far, and Lilah Events, all situated in Philadelphia. Jaffa Bar exemplifies the group’s commitment to culinary artistry, superior service, and cultural authenticity, offering a unique venue where guests can savor exquisite Israeli-inspired oyster dishes paired with expertly crafted beverages in a lively, welcoming atmosphere.
We are currently seeking an experienced Lead Bartender to join the Jaffa Bar team. This full-time position is essential to maintaining the high standards of hospitality and service for which the CookNSolo group is celebrated. The Lead Bartender will have a critical role in ensuring efficient bar set up, preparation, and sanitation, while providing guests with exceptional service that embodies the warm and inclusive spirit of Jaffa Bar. Candidates must exhibit strong leadership capabilities, a deep knowledge of food and beverage operations, and a commitment to fostering a collaborative team environment.
The ideal Lead Bartender will work closely with front of house team members and management to guarantee seamless service flow and impeccable drink quality. Responsibilities extend beyond typical bartending duties to include staff training, service oversight, communication with the kitchen team, and performing designated administrative tasks. Leading by example, this role requires a dependable individual with a positive attitude eager to learn, grow, and contribute meaningfully to the team dynamic. Flexibility in scheduling, particularly availability on weekends, is highly preferred, as this position encompasses 4-5 shifts per week. In addition to a competitive hourly wage, the position includes tipping opportunities, reflecting the establishment's commitment to rewarding excellence in service.
Joining Jaffa Bar means becoming part of a vibrant culinary community that values innovation, cultural heritage, and operational excellence. Employees enjoy a range of benefits including access to subsidized health, dental, and vision insurance plans, transportation and parking benefits, participation in a company wellness program, and discounts across all Philadelphia-based, CookNSolo-owned restaurants. This role offers a unique opportunity to grow professionally within a prestigious and supportive gastronomic environment, contributing to a team that continually pushes the boundaries of dining experiences in Philadelphia.
