Job Description
The Roof is part of the EDITION Hotels collection, a distinguished brand under Marriott International known for combining the visionary genius of boutique hotelier Ian Schrager with the luxurious service and global reach of Marriott. Located in the heart of West Hollywood, California, The Roof offers a unique hospitality experience that blends elegance with personality, delivering perfection with an individualistic touch. As a sophisticated and dynamic establishment, it caters to discerning guests who appreciate quality, originality, design, and service excellence without limitations. The Roof is a place where service is heartfelt, providing guests with an immersive theatrical experience that continuously delights and surprises.
This full-time, non-management position is an excellent opportunity for cocktail experts passionate about beverages and guest interaction. Working at The Roof means becoming part of a global and diverse team, where every day brings new discoveries and opportunities. The hourly wage ranges from $20.87 to $21.15 with tips, reflecting the value placed on expert bartending skills. The role involves crafting a welcoming atmosphere behind the bar by offering a diverse drinks menu inspired by seasonal ingredients, engaging guests in friendly conversation, and providing insightful recommendations. Successful bartenders here excel in storytelling, maintain a positive and outgoing personality, and are always keen on new drink trends.
As a bartender at The Roof, you will take pride in greeting guests, serving beverages including wine and champagne, preparing decorative drink presentations, and maintaining bar cleanliness and organization at all times. Additional responsibilities include replenishing ice, glassware, and paper supplies and accurately processing all payment methods with meticulous cashier reporting. Physical demands include the ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand or move for extended periods while presenting a professional appearance with a clean uniform. Pre-employment safety training and certification are also required to ensure guest and associate safety.
Joining The Roof means receiving comprehensive support both at work and beyond, including discounts on hotel rooms, gift shop items, food and beverages, along with opportunities for professional development and learning. The company promotes wellness programs, recognition initiatives, motivated management, and a collaborative team environment that encourages growth and success. Marriott International and EDITION Hotels are committed to equal employment opportunity and celebrating diversity in all forms, fostering an inclusive workplace where all associates feel welcome and valued. This position is perfect for individuals eager to combine their passion for mixology with rewarding career opportunities within a world-renowned hospitality brand.
