Job Description

American Social is a vibrant and contemporary restaurant and bar known for its lively atmosphere, exceptional service, and commitment to delivering a memorable dining experience. Situated in a dynamic urban setting, American Social seamlessly blends the excitement of a social hotspot with the comfort and quality of a dining establishment. This venue stands out for its dedication to fostering a welcoming environment where guests can enjoy expertly crafted food and beverages, engage with attentive staff, and partake in a social experience that reflects the brand's core values. The company prides itself on maintaining high standards in both service and ambiance, ensuring every visit is more than just a meal — it's a distinctive event that encourages connection and enjoyment.

We are currently seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Bartender to join the American Social team. This role is vital to our success, as the bartender serves as the face of the beverage service, providing guests with expertly made drinks, knowledgeable recommendations, and an engaging presence that enhances the overall guest experience. The ideal candidate will embody the American Social vision and core values, approaching each shift with a positive attitude and readiness to exceed guest expectations. Working in fast-paced environments, bartenders are expected to manage multiple tasks efficiently, including preparing drinks according to specific recipes, maintaining a well-stocked bar area, and ensuring compliance with all safety and legal requirements.

The Bartender is responsible for greeting guests promptly and courteously, guiding them through the menu options, and confidently describing all food and beverage offerings. This position requires a deep understanding of drink mixing techniques, ingredient details, and allergen information, which ensures guests are fully informed and comfortable with their choices. Maintening the flow of service, the bartender will prepare and deliver all drink orders, verify accuracy, and manage transactions with professionalism and attention to detail.

Beyond drink preparation, the Bartender also plays a critical role in maintaining the bar’s cleanliness and organization, including sanitizing glassware, restocking supplies, and performing setup and closing duties. Collaboration with both front-of-house and back-of-house teams is essential to create a seamless guest experience. Flexibility is key, as the bartender may assist in other departments as needed and must be able to work late-night shifts, adapting to the dynamic nature of the hospitality industry.

This position demands physical endurance, including standing for extended periods and working in varying temperature conditions, alongside strong communication skills to interact effectively in lively environments. Certification in Alcohol Awareness is mandatory, reflecting our commitment to responsible beverage service. Candidates with additional certifications, such as food handling, are preferred.

Joining American Social means becoming part of a dedicated team focused on delivering unparalleled guest experiences through quality service, teamwork, and adherence to safety and sanitation protocols. If you are passionate about bartending and excel in a fast-paced, guest-focused setting, this opportunity provides a platform to grow and thrive within a reputable and exciting social dining venue.
