The role at hand is a Beverage Server position, a vital part of providing an outstanding guest experience by serving drinks in a hospitable and efficient manner. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in a hospitality or service role preferred
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Basic knowledge of alcoholic beverage preparation
- Basic math skills for handling cash and transactions
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and perform manual tasks
- Must comply with attendance and punctuality standards
- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to follow state, federal, and corporate alcohol service laws
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Job Qualifications
- Hotel experience preferred
- Must communicate well with guests
- Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages
- Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total other charges, and understand portion sizes
- Sufficient manual dexterity to use a knife to make garnish, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and retrieve stock with or without accommodation
- Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items with or without accommodation
- Ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale procedures to pre-check and close out an order with or without accommodation
- Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods with or without accommodation
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers, and patrons
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences
Job Duties
- Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis including requisitioning and stocking of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based on daily function projections
- Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables daily to ensure product quality
- Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promotes and documents orders for drinks
- Mixes, garnishes, and presents drinks using standard recipes and practicing prudent portion control
- Abides by all State, Federal and Corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages
- Inputs orders into a register at the point of sale and creates a check for each guest to maintain accountability
- Receives cash from guests, makes change, verifies charges, records charges, and ensures vouchers are properly executed
- Locks and stores all beverage, food and other equipment items, deposits cash drops and secures bank
- Complies with attendance rules and is available to work regularly
- Performs any other job-related duties as assigned
