Job Description

Cooper's Hawk is a distinctive lifestyle brand that expertly combines a Napa-style tasting room with wine-inspired retail, a full-service restaurant, bar, and private event spaces to deliver a modern and casual dining experience. Established in 2005, Cooper's Hawk has become renowned for its commitment to pairing high-quality, scratch-kitchen menu items with an exceptional selection of wines. Rooted deeply in the Napa Valley tradition, the company offers an extensive Wine Club, recognized as one of the largest in the world, providing members with award-winning wines and exclusive perks, including curated dining and travel experiences. Additionally, through its innovative concept Piccolo Buco by Cooper's Hawk, the company brings the vibrant flavors of Rome to its guests, further enriching the brand's multifaceted appeal. Cooper's Hawk is not just a restaurant or winery; it is a lifestyle brand that fosters memorable experiences and connections through every aspect of its service, from the quality of food and beverages to guest engagement and hospitality.

In the role of Bartender at Cooper's Hawk, you become an essential part of this immersive experience, contributing warmth, expertise, and craftsmanship to every guest interaction. This position is not simply about serving drinks; it is about creating experiences that guests will want to toast to again and again. Bartenders at Cooper's Hawk are expected to arrive prepared with a well-stocked station, sharp skills, and a full understanding of the menu offerings, including beverages, food, and wine club benefits. Operational excellence is key, including completing opening and mid-shift checklists, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and assisting with retail and Wine Club tasks as opportunities arise.

Communication and teamwork are vital, as bartenders coordinate closely with servers, food runners, hosts, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth, accurate, and timely service. Personalization is a hallmark of the role, with bartenders encouraged to greet guests warmly, engage in friendly conversation, offer thoughtful recommendations, and educate guests about the Cooper's Hawk Wine Club. The role demands attention to detail, from creative garnishes and polished glassware to consistent adherence to recipes and portion standards. Ongoing professional development is supported, with access to wine and culinary education, career growth plans, and wellness resources. Benefits for team members include substantial discounts on dining, carryout, retail wine, and private events, along with a 401k with company match, paid time off, medical, dental, and vision insurance, and wellness and mental health support.

Working at Cooper's Hawk means embracing its core values, coming prepared to deliver exceptional service in a fast-paced environment, and making each guest feel valued through genuine and personal interactions. Bartenders must be able to multitask efficiently, demonstrate basic wine knowledge with a strong willingness to learn more, and maintain physical stamina to stand and walk for long hours and lift up to 50 pounds. Flexibility to work during evenings, weekends, and holidays is also required. Cooper's Hawk is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and supports reasonable accommodations throughout the employment process. Joining Cooper's Hawk as a bartender means joining a team dedicated to creating unforgettable moments, employing expertise, passion, and hospitality to elevate every guest experience.
