Job Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Two years bartending experience preferably in a hotel or resort environment
- Valid Food Handlers Card or willingness to obtain
- Ability to serve guests with discretion and professionalism
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform basic math calculations
- Ability to use POS and telephone systems
- Completion of TIPS alcohol awareness certification
- Knowledge of health and safety standards
- Ability to work varying schedules including holidays and weekends
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Compliance with safety policies including wearing non-slip shoes
Job Qualifications
- Two years bartending experience preferably in a hotel or resort environment
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage preparation and hotel service standards
- Extensive knowledge of wines, beers, liquors, and drink preparation
- Ability to serve guests through verbal face-to-face interactions and use discretion with sensitive information
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to guest satisfaction
- Completion of required training including TIPS alcohol awareness
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Ability to learn and use telephone and POS systems
- Strong attention to detail and multitasking ability
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
- Must be at least 21 years of age to serve alcohol
- Valid Food Handlers Card or ability to obtain within 30 days
- Knowledge of health standards and laws regarding alcohol service
- Professional appearance and demeanor
Job Duties
- Prepares drinks for guests and servers following standard recipes and portion control
- Provides a fun and high-energy environment while maintaining professionalism
- Maintains proper bar setup including stocking liquor, beer, wine, garnishments, and glassware
- Describes beverages and makes recommendations to guests
- Handles cash, charge, and credit card transactions and balances the bank at shift end
- Follows all food handling, sanitation, TIPS, and health department guidelines
- Maintains cleanliness of bar area and ensures compliance with safety policies
