Job Description

Snowbird is a renowned resort located in the heart of the Wasatch Mountain Range in Salt Lake City, Utah. This iconic destination is celebrated for its breathtaking views, rugged terrain, and a unique blend of summer and winter seasons that attract outdoor enthusiasts from across the globe. Snowbird is not only a playground for adventure seekers but also a remarkable employer that prioritizes the well-being and growth of its workforce. The resort offers a diverse range of employment opportunities, including full-time, part-time, seasonal, and year-round positions, catering to individuals with varying availability and career goals. With a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive work environment, Snowbird prides itself on its diversity of thought, background, race, sexual orientation, gender, and belief, making it a welcoming place for all employees.

The role of Barista/Counter Server at Snowbird is an integral part of the vibrant dining experience offered to guests at venues like Baked and Brewed and Tram Car Pizza located at the Snowbird Center. This full-time, year-round position involves a combination of customer service, food and beverage preparation, and sales skills. The Barista/Counter Server plays a crucial role in ensuring guests receive high-quality service, whether they are ordering coffee, pizza, or other menu items. Responsibilities include greeting guests warmly, utilizing suggestive selling techniques to enhance guest satisfaction and increase revenue, accurately taking and communicating orders, answering customer inquiries professionally, and managing inventory to meet demand. The role requires competency in reading, writing, arithmetic, and multitasking, especially during busy periods when handling multiple orders and transactions simultaneously.

The position demands a positive attitude and the ability to work well under pressure, reflecting the dynamic nature of a popular mountain resort. Employees must be able to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays, and be prepared to stay overnight if necessary due to road closures or other emergency conditions. Physical stamina is essential, as the job involves standing for long periods, lifting up to 25 pounds, and performing repetitive motions such as bending, kneeling, and reaching. Additionally, the role includes collaborating with other restaurant positions, including bussing and cleaning tasks, to maintain a clean and welcoming environment for guests.

Working at Snowbird comes with numerous benefits that enhance both the work experience and lifestyle of employees. These include ski passes and complimentary tickets, discounts across Snowbird's eateries, retail shops, mountain school, lodging, and daycare services. Eligible employees can also access medical, dental, vision, and accident insurance benefits. The resort offers a 401k plan to support long-term financial planning, as well as discounts with Powdr partners. Convenient transportation options to and from work, such as UTA Bus, Rideshare Vans, and Employee Blue Shuttles, are available to ease commuting challenges.

Snowbird values professionalism and integrity, requiring all hires to complete a background check and adhere to policies concerning appearance, drug and alcohol use, and employee conduct. The resort is dedicated to providing a dynamic, friendly environment where employees can thrive while sharing their passion for the outdoors. Whether seeking full-time, part-time, seasonal, or year-round employment, prospective employees will find a supportive and rewarding workplace at Snowbird, making it an excellent choice for anyone eager to work in a mountain resort setting with exceptional benefits and career opportunities.
