The temporary Barista Supervisor role is a crucial position within NC State Dining's workforce strategy, tasked with overseeing and supporting the daily activities of baristas while ensuring superior customer service and operational excellence. In addition to managing beverage preparation and customer transactions, the Barista Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating barista staff activities, assisting with opening and closing procedures, and maintaining the cleanliness required to uphold a Grade "A" sanitation standard. This role also involves the management of merchandise inventory and may require support at various dining locations across the campus. The position is hourly with an expected 32-day break after 11 months of employment, with potential for renewal or promotion to a permanent, benefits-eligible role, contingent on outstanding work performance.

Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • provide exemplary customer service to every guest
  • prepare quality beverages such as espresso-based beverages shakes and smoothies and other drinks and food products consistently by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards while following all health safety and sanitation guidelines
  • accurately process transactions through the POS point of sale by following NC State Dining revenue handling procedures
  • perform necessary cleaning tasks in accordance with maintaining a grade "a" sanitation rating
  • assist in receiving and stocking store merchandise
  • assist with opening and closing duties of the unit as assigned by the supervisor
  • supervise and coordinate the activities of baristas
  • other duties as assigned to ensure NC State Dining business needs are met
  • position may be asked to assist in other locations as necessary
