We are currently seeking an energetic and motivated Shift Leader/Supervisor to join our team at Southern Grounds. This dynamic role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused setting and who enjoys leading by example. As a Shift Leader/Supervisor, you will play a crucial part in ensuring smooth daily operations by overseeing the cafe during your shift, engaging with customers, and supporting your team members across various positions. This hands-on position requires versatility—you will be expected to assist in many areas including beverage preparation, food service, cashiering, and maintaining cleanliness standards.

Your leadership will inspire the team to deliver outstanding customer experiences through friendly engagement and attention to detail. You will also ensure compliance with food safety regulations, help with training new staff, and support inventory and waste management efforts. Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Proven experience as a barista or in the food service industry
Familiarity with Toast POS or similar point-of-sale systems
Ability to manage cash transactions accurately
Strong communication and leadership skills
Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards

Job Qualifications

Proven experience as a barista with strong coffee-making skills or knowledge of the food industry standards
Familiarity with Toast POS
Excellent time management skills
Strong customer service skills
Leadership qualities to guide team members resolve conflicts and maintain a positive work environment
Basic math skills for cash handling retail math calculations and sales reconciliation
Knowledge of food safety practices food preparation techniques and proper food handling procedures

Job Duties

Oversee daily cafe operations during your shift ensuring efficient service and quality standards are met
Lead and motivate team members to deliver outstanding customer experiences through friendly engagement and attentive service
Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages food items beer and wine with precision and consistency
Manage cash handling Toast POS transactions and cashiering duties accurately
Monitor food safety protocols food handling procedures and cleanliness standards to ensure compliance with health regulations
Assist in training new team members on food preparation serving techniques POS systems and customer service best practices
Support inventory management by tracking supplies restocking stations and minimizing waste through effective time management
