The part-time Barista position at Creative Dining Services is a dynamic and rewarding opportunity for individuals passionate about specialty coffee and exceptional customer care. This role involves managing operations at the Coffee Shop, where providing fast, efficient, and friendly service is paramount. The Barista is responsible for preparing and presenting food and beverages according to set recipes and presentation standards, ensuring every product meets the high expectations of guests. Beyond beverage preparation, the position requires the handling of cash transactions accurately, running registers and credit card machines, and following strict cash handling procedures to maintain accountability during shifts.

Additionally, the Barista actively contributes to menu development, keeping abreast of current coffee trends to innovate and suggest improvements to daily operations. Working within a fast-paced commercial kitchen environment, the Barista will engage in physical activities such as moving inventory and equipment and must be able to lift up to 25 pounds. Flexibility is also essential, with work hours typically scheduled between 7 am and 3 pm from Monday to Friday, over a 24-26 hour workweek. Job Requirements

high school diploma or equivalent preferred
one year of retail or six months of specialty coffee experience
basic computer knowledge
ability to lift 25 pounds
ability to work overtime, evenings and special events as needed
must work cooperatively with others even under pressure

Job Duties

prepares and presents food and beverages according to established recipe and presentation standards
provides service to the customers in a positive, friendly, helpful manner
runs a register, other devices and credit card machine accurately, following all cash handling procedures
ensures accurate accounting of all transactions, collections and disbursements during work shift
follows current trends in the coffee business and makes operations suggestions
assists in menu development
assists with special events as assigned
assists with product management, including ordering and inventory of stock
