The Barista role at Omni Corpus Christi Hotel focuses on delivering the highest standard of customer service by providing quick, efficient, and professional coffee service to guests. Baristas are an essential part of the guest experience, maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the coffee bar, restocking merchandise, and ensuring that every guest interaction is pleasant and satisfying. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 1 year experience in customer service
  • TABC certification
  • Food Handler certification
  • ability to handle cash transactions
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to maintain professionalism under pressure
  • physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • availability to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year customer service experience in food, beverage and/or retail environment
  • previous coffee house and/or hotel experience preferred
  • previous cash handling and face to face customer service experience required
  • ability to accurately and efficiently input information into MICROS
  • ability to handle stressful situations while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor
  • ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside department
  • ability to prioritize, organize and follow up on guest requests and needs in a fast paced environment
  • must be TABC and Food Handler certified
  • must be able to work a variety of shifts including weekends and holidays
  • ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance
  • requires frequent bending, reaching overhead and twisting
  • must be able to stand or walk for an extended period or entire work shift

  • interact with other departments to ensure guest needs are satisfied
  • adhere to proper food handling procedures
  • demonstrate knowledge of equipment use and safety procedures
