As a Barista in Training, you will be responsible for supporting daily cafe operations while learning the foundational skills needed to become a fully certified Joe Coffee barista. This includes preparing non-espresso beverages such as drip coffee, cold brew, tea, matcha, and seasonal drinks, as well as food items, operating the POS system, handling cash and payment processing accurately, and maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the cafe. You will also actively participate in training sessions, coaching, and feedback opportunities designed to nurture your skills and career growth.

Successful Baristas in Training embody the spirit of warm, thoughtful customer service and hospitality that Joe Coffee is known for. You will interact with a diverse customer base, ensuring each guest feels welcomed and cared for in line with Joe Coffee's high standards. Beyond technical skills, the position requires reliability, friendliness, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment alongside a collaborative team. Joe Coffee offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance after six months of employment, pre-tax commuter benefits, a 401(k) retirement plan with employer match, employee assistance programs, bonuses and incentives, paid continuing education, mentorship, and signature community-building events such as The Joe Show and holiday celebrations. Additional perks include subsidized Citi Bike or Lyft Pink memberships and financial literacy workshops.

This role is ideal for individuals who have prior coffee shop or guest service experience but also welcomes those who are passionate about hospitality and eager to learn. Joe Coffee values inclusivity and encourages applicants from all backgrounds to apply while providing reasonable accommodations throughout the hiring process. Joining Joe Coffee as a Barista in Training provides an opportunity to grow with a reputable company deeply invested in your development and well-being, and to be part of a vibrant coffee community that continues to set standards in the specialty coffee industry.
