The Barista I position at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, operated by Sodexo, is a full-time role with a fixed pay rate of $18.00 per hour. This opportunity focuses on providing exceptional customer service while crafting quality beverages. The role requires working primarily morning shifts on varying days, including some weekends and holidays. The position is essential in creating a positive and welcoming environment for guests by preparing customized hot and cold beverages, handling sales transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. As a Barista I, you will be a key representative of Sodexo’s brand, ensuring that every guest experience is memorable.

In your role as Barista I, you will greet guests warmly and offer personalized, prompt service. Your tasks will include preparing a variety of beverages such as coffee, espresso, cappuccino, café latte, tea, chai, and fruit blends, with attention to customer preferences. You will also educate guests about menu offerings and encourage suggestive selling to enhance their experience. Maintaining supply aesthetics, cleaning coffee machines and preparation areas, and accurately handling cash register operations form part of the daily responsibilities. This role demands physical stamina, including the ability to walk or stand for long periods, occasionally lift heavy items, and perform various physical movements throughout your shift.
