Job Description

Starbucks Coffee Company, a global leader in specialty coffee, has continually distinguished itself as a company committed to not just delivering coffee but fostering connections and cultivating extraordinary leadership. Established with the vision to celebrate both the rich tradition of coffee and the community spirit it inspires, Starbucks has evolved into a premier brand renowned for its dedication to quality, innovation, and service excellence. Starbucks Reserve® represents an elevated facet of this brand, offering a unique and immersive coffee experience through flagship stores and Reserve Kitchens across the United States. These locations emphasize craftsmanship and innovation, showcasing rare and exceptional coffee varieties and brewing methods that engage customers in a multisensory journey of coffee appreciation. As a company, Starbucks offers comprehensive employment benefits, including health and dental insurance, paid time off, retirement plans, educational opportunities, and more, supporting partners and their families for success both inside and outside of work.

The role of a Barista at Starbucks Reserve® Experience Bar is central to bringing the Starbucks Reserve® promise to life. This position is designed for individuals passionate about coffee craftsmanship and customer service and is rooted in delivering exceptional quality and engagement at every touchpoint. Baristas serve as ambassadors of the Starbucks Reserve® brand, demonstrating expert knowledge across an extensive variety of brewing methods such as Pour Over, Chemex, Coffee Press, Siphon, Espresso, and Clover Brewing system, among others. The barista creates not just beverages but memorable moments for guests, facilitating an environment conducive to community, connection, and comfort. Responsibilities include delivering an innovative food and beverage experience, maintaining operational excellence, adhering to health and safety standards, and fostering a positive, collaborative team environment.

Beyond technical skills, the role demands a commitment to Starbucks' core values—acting with integrity and honesty, upholding exceptional service standards, and contributing to a welcoming atmosphere for both customers and partners. The Barista must thrive in a fast-paced, often ambiguous environment, maintaining composure and efficiency during peak hours or unexpected situations. This is a hands-on role requiring physical stamina, adaptability, and a keen eye for detail to ensure consistency in beverage and food preparations as well as presentation.

Starbucks Reserve® Baristas also support the broader store operations, including inventory management, cash handling, workspace maintenance, and event execution, all of which are key to providing seamless customer experiences. The position also offers the opportunity to engage directly with customers through recommendations, product demonstrations, and sales, enhancing their appreciation of the specialty coffee craft. Candidates with experience in the culinary, restaurant, entertainment, or hospitality sectors, and especially those with a strong customer service background, will find this role a dynamic and fulfilling career path.

Starbucks invests extensively in its partners by providing access to numerous benefits such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, paid parental leave, vacation and sick time, holiday pay, and retirement savings options including a 401(k) plan with employer match and stock purchase programs. Educational advancement is supported through the Starbucks College Achievement Plan, offering full tuition coverage for a bachelor’s degree via Arizona State University’s online program. Additional advantages include financial well-being resources, disability insurance, emergency savings, family expansion reimbursements, and support for partners through backup care services.

Starbucks encourages applications from diverse candidates and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. The company maintains an inclusive hiring process, complying fully with all applicable laws and offering accommodations to qualified applicants with disabilities. Joining Starbucks Reserve® as a Barista is not just joining a workplace but becoming part of a vibrant community devoted to inspiring with every cup, delivering unparalleled coffee experiences, and embodying the values that make Starbucks a renowned brand globally.
