Job Description
The Wichita Asian Food Festival is an annual community event that celebrates the diverse culinary traditions of Asia through a vibrant and engaging festival experience. Held in Wichita, Kansas, this festival attracts food lovers, families, and cultural enthusiasts from the region and beyond. The festival showcases a variety of Asian cuisines, cultural performances, and entertainment, creating a lively atmosphere where people can explore and enjoy authentic flavors and traditions. The event takes place at multiple food tents and vendor stations, each representing different Asian countries and offering unique dishes and beverages. One of the key highlights of the festival is the Japanese food tent, where attendees can indulge in popular favorites like takoyaki and sandos, among others. This not only promotes cultural appreciation but also provides local food businesses with a platform to reach a wider audience.
We are currently hiring a Barista/Cashier to join our team for the upcoming Wichita Asian Food Festival weekend gig, which is a temporary and exciting opportunity ideal for energetic and reliable individuals. The role involves working at the Japanese food tent from August 21 to August 23, with shifts from 2 PM to 10 PM each day. This position offers a competitive pay rate starting at $18 per hour and requires the candidate to be available for the entire duration of the three-day event. The Barista/Cashier will play a critical role in delivering excellent customer service, managing orders and payments efficiently, and assisting with food preparation and serving. This is a perfect job for someone who enjoys fast-paced environments and interacting with diverse groups of people. Duties include taking customer orders, handling cash and payment systems, serving food orders with accuracy, maintaining cleanliness and organization of the workspace, and contributing to a friendly and welcoming festival atmosphere. Candidates with prior experience in food service, barista skills, or cash handling are preferred, but enthusiasm and a positive attitude are equally important. Punctuality and reliability are crucial as the role requires commitment throughout the entire festival period. This temporary job offers a unique festival experience, the chance to gain valuable food service skills, and the opportunity to be part of a vibrant community event in Wichita, Kansas.
