Job Description
Schweitzer is a vibrant and welcoming mountain resort community renowned for its passionate team members who thrive on a culture of hard work and recreational play. Known as one of the top ski and snowboard destinations in the region, Schweitzer offers guests unparalleled access to mountain adventures and a lively village atmosphere. The resort is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and friendly environment where employees feel valued and supported as they contribute to shaping the future of the resort and enhancing the overall guest experience. The company emphasizes the importance of community and growth, making it an exciting place for individuals passionate about mountain recreation and exceptional guest service to join and flourish.
The current opportunity at Schweitzer is for a seasonal, part-time position ideal for individuals who love dynamic, fast-paced environments and enjoy engaging with guests. The role involves preparing espresso drinks and selling food items, ensuring guests receive exceptional service throughout their visit. In addition to working with coffee equipment, employees will prepare simple food items using microwaves, toasters, and speed ovens. Exclusive to the Cabinet Mountain location, employees must be 19 or older as this part of the job involves serving alcoholic beverages including cocktails, beer, and wine, utilizing a slushy machine alongside the standard food and drink responsibilities.
This seasonal role operates primarily during the weekends – known as the Weekend Warrior schedule – covering Fridays and Saturdays. The wage range starts at $12.00 per hour plus tips, offering a competitive earning opportunity for part-time employees. Along with the monetary compensation, Schweitzer supports its staff with a range of exclusive perks including a free Alterra Mountain Resort pass, employee housing options, discounted onsite childcare services, accrued paid sick leave, a 401(k) match program, and access to great discounts and pro deals. Furthermore, depending on the employment status, staff members may qualify for full medical benefits, vacation time, and paid parental leave, making this job not only rewarding from a lifestyle perspective but also supportive of long-term employment well-being.
The position requires physical stamina, as employees will spend long hours standing and walking, and they must be comfortable lifting items, bending, squatting, and engaging in fine manual tasks. The job also requires maintaining cleanliness and operational standards within the coffee shop, operating cash registers accurately, and providing a professional and courteous presence at all times. Training and certification support is provided, including Food Handler Certification and Allergy Safety Training, with additional help to obtain Alcohol Service Training if assigned to the Cabinet Mountain duties.
Overall, this seasonal position at Schweitzer is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to join a respected resort community, gain valuable customer service experience, and enjoy the perks of mountain life with a supportive employer. Candidates with a positive attitude and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply, even if they do not have previous experience. Schweitzer offers a unique and dynamic workplace where every team member helps create memorable moments for guests against the backdrop of stunning mountain scenery.
