Job Description

Summer Moon SC is a thriving coffee company committed to delivering an exceptional and consistent customer experience in every cup. Founded with a passion for coffee craftsmanship and community, Summer Moon has earned a reputation for providing guests with a unique blend of quality, warmth, and speed. Operating as a coffeehouse that values both tradition and innovation, Summer Moon cultivates a welcoming atmosphere where customers feel appreciated and eager to return. Dedicated leadership and a culture driven by core values ensure that every location maintains a high standard of service and product excellence. This dedication extends beyond just serving coffee; it is about creating memorable moments and fostering connections between staff and guests. The team embraces values such as loving people, thinking like owners, pursuing excellence, and serving fast, fresh, and friendly.

As a barista at Summer Moon SC, you are the vital face of this experience, responsible for setting the tone and pace of service that defines the brand. This role is more than just preparing drinks; it requires warmth, energy, and impeccable execution to ensure each guest feels seen, valued, and appreciated. From greeting guests enthusiastically to crafting beverages quickly and correctly within three minutes, the barista embodies the company’s commitment to quality and customer care. You will engage with guests by asking their names and using them during interactions, offer personalized drink and pastry pairings to elevate their visit, and maintain a clean and efficient workspace. Your presence behind the bar and register will help create a smooth flow, especially during busy rushes.

The barista role is dynamic and multifaceted, involving not only drink preparation but also teamwork and leadership. You will support the team by assisting across various stations including milk prepping, register operations, lobby support, and cleaning tasks, demonstrating ownership and initiative under the guidance of shift supervisors and trainers. Maintaining communication, responding constructively to feedback, and staying fully engaged during shifts are vital to success. Growth within the company is encouraged through self-leadership and continual learning. Baristas who demonstrate consistency, coachability, and dedication have opportunities for advancement as they master current responsibilities and express interest in higher roles.

Success in this position means creating a welcoming environment where guests feel known and valued rather than rushed, delivering accurate and carefully prepared drinks promptly, and contributing to a dependable and harmonious team operation. You will be trusted to manage your bar and prep station confidently and recognized for your positive attitude, execution, and genuine love for people.

This position is available as both full-time and part-time, offering competitive pay between $15.00 and $17.00 per hour. The role includes benefits such as employee discounts, flexible scheduling, and paid training. Shifts vary and include morning, day, and evening options to accommodate different availabilities. Work is conducted in person at the Mauldin, SC location, emphasizing hands-on interaction with both colleagues and customers. Prior barista experience is a bonus but not required, as training will be provided to the right candidate who meets the key requirements and aligns with the company values.
