They provide equal employment opportunities across all protected characteristics and are committed to social, economic, and environmental progress.

The role of Barista at Sodexo, located at St. Thomas University, offers a full-time position with a pay range between $14.50 and $17 per hour. This role involves working varying shifts with open availability preferred to best meet business needs. As a Barista, you will be a key contributor to delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment. Your main responsibility is to prepare hand-crafted, quality beverages such as coffee, espresso, cappuccino, tea, chai, and fruit blend drinks tailored to customer specifications. You will engage customers with friendly, personalized service, ensuring their experience exceeds expectations.

In addition to beverage preparation, you will maintain the cleanliness and organization of your workstation and coffee machines to uphold Sodexo’s high standards. You will interact with customers by educating them about menu offerings and using suggestive selling techniques to enhance their experience. Handling cash registers and following proper cash-handling procedures are also critical parts of this role.

Physically, this role requires the ability to stand or walk for extended periods, sometimes exceeding eight hours, and to perform tasks that involve bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 35 pounds frequently or up to 50 pounds occasionally. Reliability and punctuality in adhering to scheduled shifts are essential.

For those who have experience as Starbucks Baristas, certification may be required. Other qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and relevant customer service experience, along with knowledge of food preparation, sanitation standards, and inventory control. Sodexo offers ongoing training, career advancement opportunities, and a comprehensive benefits package that supports employees and their families. Benefits include paid time off, medical, dental, vision insurance, tuition reimbursement, 401k plans, and more. Some locations may also offer perks such as free shift meals, uniforms, safety shoes, public transportation support, or parking assistance.

Overall, Sodexo is more than just a workplace; it's a community where you can build your career while contributing to a greater purpose. The company embraces a culture of belonging, respect, and fairness, making it an attractive option for those seeking meaningful employment in the hospitality sector.
