We are currently hiring motivated Baristas at our Pittston, Pennsylvania location at 100 Terminal Drive. This role is well suited for individuals passionate about hand crafting high-quality hot and cold coffee and tea beverages. As a Barista with Metz Culinary Management, you will work in a lively college setting that demands excellent customer service skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This full-time position offers an optional daily pay benefit, providing employees flexibility in their financial management.
The Barista role involves preparing, stocking, and maintaining a beverage station continuously throughout the day, ensuring a clean and efficient workspace. You will greet guests, assess their preferences, and educate them on the coffee menu while answering their questions. Preparing a variety of coffee drinks using prescribed recipes and techniques is a core responsibility, along with serving pastries, sandwiches, and other food items. The position requires knowledge of coffee brewing equipment operation and adherence to safety and sanitation standards to maintain a healthy work environment.
Cash register operation, accurate payment processing, and cash handling are also integral duties, alongside teamwork and training new members. As a Barista, you’ll assist in inventory management and equipment maintenance. This role demands physical stamina, including the ability to bend, twist, stand for long periods, and carry weights up to 50 pounds. Reading, writing, oral proficiency, and basic math skills are essential for effective job performance.

Job Duties
- Preparing, stocking, and maintaining your station continuously throughout the day
- Greets guests determining their coffee interests and needs
- Educates guests by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu and answering questions
- Preparing and serving a variety of coffee drinks following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques along with serving pastries, sandwiches, and other food items
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations
- Use of cash register, accurate cash handling and payment processing
- Work as a team with others, train new team members, and cross train in other departments
- Complete weekly inventory and order list
- Clean and maintain all equipment continuously
- Perform any other tasks as requested by Operations Manager
