The Barista role at Bon Appetit involves preparing and serving coffee and espresso beverages while also handling related food and beverage items according to HACCP standards to ensure food safety and quality. This position requires excellent customer service skills, accuracy in order entry, cash handling, and maintaining a clean and orderly work environment. The work schedule is full-time, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 AM to 1:30 PM, offering a steady and predictable routine suitable for those seeking career stability in the food service industry. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of barista experience preferred but not required
  • Willing to learn and train
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to handle cash transactions
  • Flexibility to work Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 1:30 PM
  • Must be able to follow food safety and sanitation standards
  • Friendly and courteous demeanor
  • Ability to work well in a team environment

Job Duties

  • Prepares espresso orders for customers and catering using standard measures and recipes
  • Enters orders accurately into POS device
  • accepts cash and charge payments
  • Replenishes condiments, beverages and general supplies while maintaining cleanliness of service area
  • Ensures proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures
  • follows HACCP standards
  • Maintains sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils
  • Ensures proper food preparation by using approved recipes and following prescribed production standards
  • Cleans equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving the area
  • Greets customers courteously and interacts to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Serves customers quickly and efficiently
  • Demonstrates a complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explains them to customers
  • Serves as an advocate of selling techniques by assisting in customer buying decisions
  • Ensures all display foods are merchandised attractively
  • Performs other duties as assigned
