Job Description
Metz Culinary Management is a leading provider of food service management and culinary solutions, known for delivering restaurant-inspired hospitality across various sectors including education, corporate dining, healthcare, and more. With a commitment to quality, innovation, and guest satisfaction, Metz Culinary Management operates with a family-driven culture that values teamwork and professional growth. The company prides itself on fostering a work environment that balances work and family life, supports employee well-being, and promotes career development opportunities. As part of their services to educational institutions, Metz Culinary Management partners with Roberts Wesleyan University, located in North Chili, NY, to provide exceptional food and beverage services to the campus community. This collaboration ensures that the university benefits from high-quality culinary offerings, including a full-service coffee shop that proudly serves Starbucks products.
The Barista position at Roberts Wesleyan University is an exciting opportunity for skilled culinary professionals who excel in a fast-paced, high-volume coffee service environment. This full-time role involves working in a vibrant college retail setting where customer service and product quality are paramount. The starting salary begins at $16 per hour, and compensation is negotiable depending on experience, reflecting the value placed on expertise in the field. Weekend availability is essential, as is the ability to thrive in a dynamic, team-oriented atmosphere.
As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting a variety of hand-made hot and cold coffee and tea beverages, adhering to specific recipes and preparation techniques to ensure consistency and quality. The position requires a passion for coffee, strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a friendly, approachable demeanor. You will interact directly with guests, helping educate them about the menu and tailoring their coffee experience to their preferences. In addition to beverage preparation, you will also serve pastries, sandwiches, and other food items, maintaining a clean and healthy work environment according to sanitation standards.
Your role involves more than just beverage service—you will manage your station throughout your shift, including stocking supplies, performing inventory tasks, handling cash transactions, and keeping equipment in pristine condition. Training new team members and collaborating with colleagues across departments will also be part of your responsibilities. Metz Culinary Management emphasizes safety, professionalism, and customer satisfaction, making this position ideal for someone who enjoys working independently while contributing positively to a team.
By joining Metz Culinary Management at Roberts Wesleyan University, you become part of a company that values its employees and offers competitive wages coupled with a comprehensive benefits package. Highlights include a supportive work-life balance, paid holidays off typically, and an employee benefit option for daily pay. This position also requires commitment to Metz's standards, including passing background checks and drug screening for all new hires. If you have prior barista experience and a strong work ethic, this role invites you to leverage your skills in an enriching college environment where you can grow and make a difference.
