Valencia College in Orlando, FL, in collaboration with Metz Culinary Management, is currently seeking passionate and energetic Baristas to join their team in a dynamic college dining setting. This role is a unique blend of front and back of house responsibilities, offering a fast-paced and fun work environment suitable for individuals who thrive on customer interaction and the art of crafting quality coffee and tea beverages. As a Barista at Valencia College, you will be part of a vibrant community, engaging with students, faculty, and visitors while contributing to their daily campus experience with exceptional service and delicious drinks.

The position offers flexible scheduling to accommodate various availability needs, making it an excellent opportunity for students or individuals looking for part-time work with the possibility for growth within the company. Salary ranges from $16.00 to $18.00 per hour, based on experience, reflecting Metz Culinary Management's commitment to rewarding skilled team members appropriately. Interview opportunities are available Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 3 PM at Valencia College's East, West, or Osceola Campus Cafes. Prospective candidates are encouraged to bring identification and ask for the manager during their interview visit.

As a Barista, you will take on critical responsibilities related to preparing and maintaining your workstation, engaging guests to determine their beverage preferences, and educating them on the coffee menu. You will prepare beverages using prescribed recipes and preparation techniques while also serving pastries, sandwiches, and other food items to provide a complete dining experience. The role emphasizes maintaining cleanliness, adhering to safety and sanitation standards, and operating cash registers for accurate transaction processing.

Teamwork is highly valued at Metz Culinary Management, and Baristas are expected to collaborate with colleagues, assist in training new team members, and cross-train in other departments. Inventory management and equipment maintenance are also important aspects of the role, ensuring consistent quality and availability of products. Job Duties

  • prepare stock and maintain your station continuously throughout the day
  • greet guests determining their coffee interests and needs
  • educate guests by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu and answering questions
  • prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques along with serving pastries sandwiches and other food items
  • maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations
  • use cash register accurate cash handling and payment processing
  • work as a team with others train new team members and cross train in other departments
  • complete weekly inventory and order list
  • clean and maintain all equipment continuously
  • perform any other tasks as requested by Operations Manager
