Job Requirements
- One year barista experience required
- must adhere to Pret's dress code and uniform policy
- ability to work full-time hours
- capable of maintaining cleanliness and equipment standards
- must be able to engage with customers positively
- ability to meet sales and training targets
- willingness to participate in team meetings and training sessions
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of one year barista experience
- strong knowledge of barista drink preparation
- ability to train and coach team members
- excellent customer service skills
- knowledge of coffee equipment maintenance
- good communication and teamwork abilities
- understanding of sales and waste control in a retail food and beverage environment
Job Duties
- Coach and train team members and baristas in training on barista prepared drinks and standards
- liaise with management to ensure all barista training is planned and executed appropriately
- carry out coffee team briefs and attend relevant meetings and training courses
- ensure hot drinks training materials are current and available
- maintain adherence to Pret's dress code and presentation standards
- engage positively with customers and the team about Pret's coffee story and menu
- serve barista prepared drinks to 60 seconds standards while communicating delays
- impress customers with latte art
- prepare barista drinks to Pret standards
- role model coffee knowledge and maintain understanding of Pret's barista drinks and standards
- maintain barista equipment and perform daily and weekly checks
- keep the barista counter clean and customer-friendly
- conduct log checks, thermometer calibration and dribble tests
- manage barista drinks waste control
- address stock variance and waste issues with management
- meet weekly sales targets and inform the team
- monitor and understand barista drink sales and sales mix
- use promotional waste to sample and recognize regular customers
