Job Description
The Lenox is a distinguished and independent hotel located in Boston's vibrant Back Bay neighborhood, renowned for its character, creativity, and genuine hospitality since 1900. As a beloved landmark in the city, The Lenox offers guests a unique blend of traditional charm and modern comfort, delivering memorable experiences that make visitors feel like they have a home away from home. The hotel's commitment to exceptional service is evident in its dedicated team, who strive to exceed guest expectations with thoughtful and personalized attention. This historic establishment features a variety of dining options and event spaces that cater to a diverse array of guest needs and preferences.
Currently, The Lenox is seeking a part-time Barback to join its dynamic team. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, lively atmosphere and enjoy engaging directly with guests. The Barback will support the bar operations across The Lenox’s three distinctive dining outlets: Sweeney’s on Boylston, a spirited neighborhood pub serving authentic Irish fare and Lenox specialties; The Irving at The Lenox, an intimate cocktail lounge exuding early 20th-century charm and specializing in artisan cocktails; and Willow & Ivy, an elegant dining establishment led by Executive Chef Daniel Kenney that offers a refined menu inspired by New England American cuisine. This variety provides a rich and diverse work environment filled with opportunities to hone skills and contribute to an exceptional hospitality experience.
A successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining bar inventory, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation, and assisting bartenders and servers to guarantee efficient service and guest satisfaction. The role demands a strong work ethic, excellent communication, and the ability to adapt in a lively setting. Additionally, this position offers a competitive compensation of $8 per hour plus gratuities, along with valuable benefits including medical and dental coverage, a 401k plan with a generous employer match, paid vacation and sick time, free meals, and discounted parking. The Lenox welcomes individuals who are passionate about service, eager to learn, and ready to contribute to the hotel’s longstanding reputation for excellence.
