The Barback role at Legends is a critical position within the restaurant environment, focused on ensuring exceptional guest service through efficient supply management and bartender support. This role demands a proactive and organized individual who can anticipate needs and maintain a smooth workflow behind the bar. The Barback will be responsible for daily stocking of bar items, replenishing ice bins, and assisting in keeping the bar area clean and organized to uphold the high standards expected at Legends. The position requires attention to detail, the ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced setting, and adherence to company policies and operating procedures. Working at Legends means contributing to a dynamic, high-energy atmosphere, often involving extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, specifically at iconic venues such as Yankee Stadium.
Candidates taking on the Barback position will be expected to bring a minimum of two to three years of experience working in fast-paced bars, high-end clubs, or restaurants. Physical stamina is essential, as the role involves lifting and transporting supplies weighing up to 50 pounds, and performing repetitive activities such as reaching, bending, stooping, and pushing for extended periods. Strong communication skills in English are necessary for effective interaction with guests and team members. Job Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- Minimum two to three years of experience in a fast-paced bar, high-end club, or restaurant
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations and service standards
- Ability to work extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Good physical stamina including ability to lift and transport items up to 50 pounds
- Ability to read, speak, and write English
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Commitment to safety and following all policies and procedures
- Sufficient mobility for production tasks including reaching, bending, and stooping
Job Qualifications
- All applicants must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to interact with co-workers in order to assure compliance with company service standards
- Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette
- Ability to multi task in a fast paced, team orientated setting
- Must be able to read, speak and write English language in order to communicate with guests
- Ability to lift and transport items weighing 10-30 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds
- Ability to work all Yankee Stadium events, including extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned production tasks including constant reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods of time
- Must have two to three years working in a fast paced bar, high-end club, or restaurant
Job Duties
- Responsible for stocking bar items daily and filling the ice bins as needed
- Anticipate needs throughout the shift
- Assist in keeping all areas clean and organized
- Report timely to work and prepared to start at the starting time
- Know your work area and set up as directed
- Abide by the operating standards outlined in the policy and procedure manual
- Ensure prompt, quality service is provided
- Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required from time to time
