The Barback position at Ceces Roland Park is a vital role within the culinary and service team. This role requires energetic and outgoing individuals who can maintain professionalism while supporting bar operations efficiently. Responsibilities include fundamental bar preparation tasks such as refilling ice bins, restocking beer and liquor, cutting garnishes, and changing kegs, including the physical movement of full kegs of beer. Barbacks also ensure the cleanliness and organization of the bar area, responding swiftly to spills, emptying trash cans, and maintaining drinkware and bar utensils. This role contributes significantly to customer satisfaction by offering polite, professional, and courteous service, and by communicating effectively and humorously with both guests and team members.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least age 18 or older depending on state regulations
  • Ability to handle, carry or lift items weighing up to 200 pounds (kegs, ice, glasses, trays, etc.)
  • Must be able to move about the facility efficiently and safely
  • Ability to handle food, objects, products and utensils effectively and safely
  • Must be able to bend, stand, stoop, and kneel during work shifts
  • Ability to withstand potential climate temperature changes in assigned work area

Job Qualifications

  • Food service experience with general knowledge of bar/nightclub operations
  • Must speak fluent English, other languages preferred
  • Must be at least age 18 or older, depending on state regulations
  • Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency
  • Reading and writing abilities frequently utilized when taking orders and completing paperwork
  • Mathematical skills, including basic math, used frequently
  • Communication skills used in interactions with guests, cooks, wait staff, and supervisors
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays

Job Duties

  • Show that you are an energetic, outgoing, fun person while maintaining professionalism
  • Perform basic prep work behind the bar: refilling ice bins, restocking beer/liquor, cutting garnishes
  • Change empty kegs in keg room, including moving full kegs of beer
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and tidy environment by cleaning up spills and emptying trash cans
  • Organize bar and drinkware
  • Clear and clean bar in a timely manner
  • Perform more than one task at a time
  • Offer polite, professional, and courteous customer service
  • Communicate effectively, clearly, patiently and humorously with co-workers and guests
  • Complete all side work as assigned
