Job Description
The Ned and Ned's Club represent a prestigious global collection of hotels, clubs, spas, and restaurants designed for like-minded individuals to meet, work, and enjoy exceptional hospitality. Since launching The Ned London in 2017, the group has expanded into the US with the opening of Ned's Club Washington DC in 2025, marking its fourth and newest location. Ned's Club Washington DC is housed in the iconic Riggs Building, a neoclassical style 12-story structure constructed in 1930 and situated within President’s Park. Located around the corner from the White House and opposite the US Treasury, this location is rich in history and offers stunning views of notable landmarks including the White House, US Treasury, and Washington Monument from its Rooftop Terrace and Loft Restaurant. The club boasts elegant spaces such as the Founder’s Dining Room, The Library, Drawing Room, Gallery, Conservatory, and a dedicated private event floor on level nine.
As a Barback at Ned's Club Washington DC, you will play an essential role as part of the Bar operations and the wider food and beverage team. Your primary responsibility will be to support the bartenders by ensuring the bar is fully stocked with glassware, equipment, and ingredients at all times. This enables the bartenders to deliver an exceptional and seamless experience to the members and guests who expect the highest standard of exclusive drinks and cocktails. This role requires a hardworking and efficient individual who can work at pace within a busy and dynamic environment to make sure that everything is available exactly when and where it’s needed. You will also contribute to the overall cleanliness and professional appearance of the bar area, helping maintain the polished image that guests expect from one of the top hospitality venues.
While prior experience is not necessary, a positive can-do attitude and willingness to learn are key qualities for success in this role. Many see this position as a valuable stepping stone toward a bartending career, so enthusiasm for progression within hospitality is welcomed. The role demands excellent personal presentation and a friendly, approachable demeanor since you may often be visible around guest service areas. Physical stamina is important too, as the job involves standing for long periods and being ready to assist across multiple bars as needed. Flexibility with availability is vital, including willingness to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Working at The Ned comes with several rewarding benefits including a competitive hourly wage of up to $10.30 plus gratuities. The Ned also offers comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, company-paid life insurance, short-term and long-term disability coverage, complimentary meals in the team restaurant when open, and enriching learning and development programs designed to advance your career. Employees enjoy exclusive rates at The Ned’s hotels, not only for themselves but also for their family and friends, paid time off, 401k matching, an employee assistance program for advice and support, and ongoing reward and recognition initiatives.
The Ned is deeply committed to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion within its workforce and strives to be the best place to work in hospitality. The club embraces candidates from all backgrounds and values the unique perspectives brought by individuals of all genders, races, religions, ages, sexual orientations, veteran status, disabilities, and other diverse experiences. The Ned encourages candidates to share any specific needs during the interview process to ensure equitable access and support.
If you are passionate about hospitality and excited to contribute to a world-class bar experience for an exclusive membership clientele, consider joining The Ned as a Barback. The opportunity to learn and grow in a supportive, fast-paced environment awaits you. Our doors are yours to open.
