The Barback role at Nemacolin plays a crucial role in maintaining the high standards of guest service and beverage quality that the resort upholds. As a Barback, you will be responsible for creating an exciting and engaging environment for both internal team members and guests, contributing to the memorable experiences centered around cocktails, mocktails, and other beverage offerings. The position requires providing extraordinary guest service by going above and beyond in all interactions and adhering strictly to state regulations for responsible alcohol service. This role is ideal for someone passionate about hospitality and who enjoys working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where teamwork and communication are essential. The Barback will assist with stocking and preparation of bar supplies, maintain cleanliness and safety standards, support bartenders and the culinary team, and help ensure that all service aspects meet resort and health department standards. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- ability to speak English fluently
- ability to perform basic math functions
- physical ability to stand for long periods
- capability to lift 25 pounds
- previous bartending experience preferred
- willingness to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to prioritize duties and multitask
- knowledge of safety and health regulations
- RAMP certification required or must be obtained soon after hire
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum 2 years of experience in guest service roles
- excellent communication skills
- friendly and outgoing personality
- ability to stand for extended periods
- able to lift up to 25 pounds
- fluency in English
- previous bartending experience
- strong organizational skills
- ability to work various shifts including holidays and weekends
- knowledge of hospitality industry standards

Job Duties
- Build and retain guest relations
- act as a mentor to associates to provide superior guest service
- stock items needed for service and maintain inventory
- assist with food plating including wipes and garnishes
- maintain positive attitude and teamwork
- report safety hazards promptly
- perform cleaning and side-work duties
- maintain detailed knowledge of menu items and allergens
- communicate clearly with bar staff and culinary team
- prioritize tasks in high volume situations
- adhere to SOPs including phone etiquette and personal appearance
- obtain and maintain RAMP certification
- secure and protect company assets including liquor, beer, and wine
- use POS systems accurately
- follow proper knife safety
